I am so happy that you found us here - and that you are taking the time to check out the website! Please Join us for Kindness Tag!
It's exciting to think that ONE PERSON really CAN change the world around them - and the more people we get involved with this revolution - the bigger the piece of the world we all change becomes!
It's so exciting to think I reached my 1,000th Random Act of Kindness on 9/13/09 - the acts have been so much of a blessing to me, I love watching people smile when they are given something unexpected. I really enjoy watching those folks that begin with a question and end by saying "that's really cool"! I even like those people who look at me like I am nuts - I am sure I am a bit...
Just think - if each of those people goes out and is kind to just one other person that's 2,000!! people who's lives have been touched by kindness - hopefully it's more!
How Kindness TAG Works
You can get a “the Random Act of Kindness was provided in Memory of Mandy” card AND BECOME "IT" when:
1. You received the card when someone provided a random act for you!
They gave you the card ~ so you would know to come here to learn more!
2. You pledge to do an act(s) of kindness and send me an e-mail containing
your mailing address I will send you a card or cards (please specify #).
Once you have the card please look for an act of kindness to do, so you can pass on that card. REMEMBER, a card that sit in a wallet, on a dresser or on a refrigerator serve no purpose, so PLEASE do not let them stay there long!
When you give your card to someone after providing an act of kindness or to recognize his/her act of kindness or, You feel good and the other person feels good.
I would love to hear your stories - stories of how you got the card - and then what you did when you passed the card on!? Please go to the contact page and let me know.
Let's elaborate on what she wants....
Lift someone you don’t know
Lifting someone can be as small as:
• A smile in the hallway,
• Telling someone that they look beautiful in that outfit or color,
• Scraping the snow off someone's car without saying anything or looking for thanks, or
• Saying a prayer for someone you know needs it.
It can also be bigger like:
• Paying for the person behind you in the drive thru (or toll on the highway),
• Paying a portion of the dry cleaning bill for the next customer,
• Sending in a donation to a charitable organization, (even Mandy’s)
• Noticing someone in need at the supermarket and paying for part of their groceries anonymously (most managers are happy to help make this happen).
It can also be HUGE like:
• Giving a gift to someone you don't know on YOUR birthday to brighten their day
(Most schools know which children need items and are happy to help make this happen!)
The dollar amount doesn't matter it can be free! It is the thought and gesture that they will remember!
Aspire to Greatness
Aspire to YOUR personal best (it is all anyone can ask of you and the biggest thing you can ask of yourself!)
When you are tempted, angry, frustrated and ready to quit or say things that are hurtful, take a breath and ask yourself "will this make the situation better"?
It is SO hard to walk away and to be the bigger person, but I promise you that if you do - YOU will feel better about YOU regardless what others think.
Teach Many
Teaching others is easy – simply let them see you do good things on a daily basis and having it "rub off" on them. Negativity breeds negativity and JOY and HOPE breed more Joy and Hope and Happiness!
We all need to remember that the best thing we can do is to ALWAYS treat others with kindness and respect REGARDLESS of how they treat us and without the expectation of a "thank you" or recognition.
I am very excited that we teamed up with the Teach with Africa project - now that the first teacher we helped sponsor is back we are working to raise funds for the 2011 "Mandy Representative" that will travel to Africa! That is an EXTREME "lift someone you don't even know"
I am sending good thoughts and warm hugs out to you and thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I leave it in God’s hands now what you make of it.
According to the Kindness Revolution.org website –
What people begin to realize is that “We Are All One.” It is only after you come to this realization that you can truly help make this “Heaven on Earth.”
By focusing on positive, love-related thoughts that foster an open, receptive attitude, your cells will open to receive torsion wave energy. This will lead to an increase in the number of synchronicities in your life. You will find your thoughts manifesting right in front of you so quickly that will take your breath away.
The Healing Aspects of Kindness
Kindness has also been shown to heal your body and promote wellness.
Researchers from the new field of psycho-neuro-immunology have found that kind thoughts, words and deeds can help you stay healthy. They found that kind thoughts have a positive effect on the body’s immune system.
For, example, researchers found that your immunological resistance to the common cold is significantly increased when you do kind acts. They concluded that thinking about and doing kind acts releases endorphins that produce health benefits very similar to those achieved from exercise programs.
For example, if you are regularly kind and helpful to others, you will develop a stronger immune system, improve your cardiovascular circulation, enjoy a heightened sense of well being and even live longer. They found that as little as two hours a week, or 17 minutes a day, of kind acts produce these results.
Other researchers found that when you are angry or fearful, the flow of helpful endorphins is cut off by adrenalin that supports a fight, flight or freeze response. This process lowers your immune functioning and limits any of the possible health benefits of being kind.
These benefits are only available to you, if you choose to think and act in kind and loving ways toward yourself and others. You can choose to exercise your “kindness muscles” and live a healthier, more enjoyable and longer life or you can choose to exercise your “unkindness muscles” and live a less healthy, less enjoyable and shorter life. The choice is yours. I know what my choice is.
